So he'd discarded the idea, concluding instead that this had been true for some time, that Near had thought more highly of him than Mello had ever guessed - probably at least as far back as Near's own departure from the House, or else he wouldn't have taken the effort to collect Mello's photograph. Maybe for as long as they've known each other.]
